The top fin opens to reveal a coin slot. The bottom gondola opens to extract your stash of coins. The body is made of steel, so there is a child gratifying crashing of coins when shaken.
Why give your child a piggy bank? These are way cooler. They are just plain awesome as toys. Even the little engine nacelle propellers spin.
Manufactured in 1998 for Texaco by Liberty Classics/SpecCast, production was limited to 5000 units. Every year there are fewer remaining. These are rare indeed, and difficult to find.
Measures 9" long and 3" wide/high. Original boxes included, but the boxes are somewhat worn.
Five sets are available, each at $100. Never removed from boxes other than for pictures.
