Job Overview:
We are seeking an event day Event Assistant to support our event staff and lead wedding planner in executing flawless wedding events. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, has a “roll-up your sleeves” mentality, and passionate about providing exceptional customer service to couples, guests, and vendors. You will work closely with the operations manager and planner to ensure all aspects of the wedding day run smoothly.
Growth Opportunity: This position has the potential to grow into a part-time or full-time event management role for the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist operations manager in set up of chairs, moving of furniture, wiping tables before event, etc. This would also include clean-up (vacuuming, table/chair wiping, etc).
•Assist the lead wedding planner with setup, coordination, and breakdown of wedding events.
•Assist with decorating and setting up ceremony and reception spaces, including tables, chairs, and décor.
•Keep an eye on details to ensure everything aligns with the client’s vision.
•Communicate with vendors, event staff, and wedding party to address any last-minute needs.
•Handle minor troubleshooting and problem-solving on the day of the event.
•Provide stellar customer service by greeting and assisting guests with any needs.
•Maintain a positive, professional, and calm demeanor under pressure.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Prior experience in event planning is not necessary. Hospitality or customer service experience is a plus.
•Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills.
•Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Physical ability to be on your feet for extended periods (8+ hour days) and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
•A strong work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done.
•Availability on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays during wedding season.
Compensation:
$18 per hour
