Vintage / antique (1940’s-1050’s) Robinson Ransbottom Pottery (RRP) "Hey Diddle Diddle" cookie jar, depicting the man in the moon, the cow that jumped over the moon, the cat and the fiddle, and the dish that ran away with the spoon. This very charming and prized cookie jar was manufactured by the RRP Company of Roseville, Ohio. It is in a soft yellow, with pastel hues of rose and green, a brown fiddle, and black accents. This piece measures approximately 9.75 inches high, 7.75 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and weighs more than 3-4 pounds. It is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. It has crazing. It is original (not a reproduction as many are) This jar is pictured on page 321 of SUPNICK'S ~ WONDERFUL WORLD OF COOKIE JARS, showing a value of $400.-$425.00. You can make out the mark RRP CO in Roseville, Ohio NO. 317 information in the photo showing the bottom. I had to enhance the photo to show the mark, as the mark is lightly embossed and hard to see.
