Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Site Superintendent to oversee retail and restaurant construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors, vendors, and labor crews
* Read, interpret, and execute construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications with a high level of accuracy
* Maintain project schedules and coordinate sequencing of trades to ensure timely completion
* Enforce jobsite safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
* Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and workmanship
* Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, inspectors, and subcontractors
* Manage material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics
* Identify and resolve issues proactively to prevent delays or cost overruns
* Maintain daily reports, logs, and documentation of job progress
* Ensure all work meets local building codes and regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Superintendent in retail, restaurant, or commercial construction
* Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work
* Proven ability to manage multiple trades and fast-paced projects
* Clean background record and professional conduct required
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project schedules
* Familiarity with construction management software is a plus
* OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Experience
* Ground-up and interior build-outs for restaurants and retail spaces
* Experience coordinating MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems
* Knowledge of ADA compliance and health department requirements for food service projects
Work Environment
* Primarily on active construction sites
* May require travel depending on project locations
* Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends as needed
