Jake’s Home & Handyman Services is seeking motivated, experienced Lead Trainees to join our growing residential window and door installation team. This position is designed for installers who already have construction and window/door experience and are looking to develop into independent Crew Leads.
Lead Trainees work on a 3-person installation crew consisting of:
* 1 Crew Lead
* 1 Lead Trainee
* 1 Helper
You will work directly alongside an experienced Lead Installer, gaining hands-on training while actively participating in every aspect of the installation process. This is not an entry-level labor position—we are looking for individuals who already possess solid construction skills and are committed to becoming professional lead installers.
Daily Responsibilities
* Meet the crew at the designated meeting location each morning.
* Ride with the Crew Lead to Lowe’s to pick up materials.
* Travel to scheduled residential installation sites throughout the day.
* Assist with installing replacement windows and exterior doors.
* Learn proper installation techniques, flashing, insulation, trim work, finishing, and weatherproofing.
* Increase crew productivity by preparing materials and assisting throughout the installation.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
* Protect customer property during installations.
* Learn customer communication and professional jobsite etiquette.
* Learn how to complete installation paperwork and mobile app documentation.
* Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials.
* Perform quality control checks before leaving each jobsite.
* Continuously develop the skills necessary to become an independent Crew Lead.
Qualifications
* Previous window and door installation experience required.
* Strong residential construction experience.
* Must own a reliable truck capable of transporting tools.
* Must own the tools necessary for residential window and door installation.
* Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
* Working smartphone capable of running job management applications.
* Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly.
* Comfortable using power tools and hand tools.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
* Professional appearance and positive attitude.
* Reliable attendance and punctuality.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to follow direction while taking initiative.
* Commitment to learning and improving every day.
* Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check as required for access to customer homes and project assignments.
